David Koecher is an American actor, comedian, writer and musician. He was born in Tipton, Missouri, on August 24, 1962. Koecher came up in the world of Chicago improv, then got jobs on "Saturday Night Live" and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien," which led to small film roles in "Wag the Dog" (1997), "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me" (1999) and "Man on the Moon" (1999). Koecher met his comedy partner, Dave Allen, while filming the country mockumentary "Dill Scallion." Their act became popular in Hollywood comedy clubs, and they eventually opened for Tenacious D. Koecher got bigger roles in high profile comedies like "Anchorman" (2004), "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby" (2006), "The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard" (2009) and "Extract" (2009). In 2007, he got his first leading role in "The Comebacks" playing a football coach. Koecher and Allen premiered their Comedy Central show "The Naked Trucker and T-Bones Show" in 2007, a song and skit show with cameos by Will Ferrell, Jack Black, Steve Carell, Andy Richter and Paul Rudd. The duo also released a comedy album. Koecher's upcoming appearances include the highly anticipated sequel "Anchorman: The Legend Continues" (2013) and the animated "Hell & Back" with Mila Kunis and Susan Sarandon. |
