An American actor, born in New York, on August 20, 1907, as Herbert Theodore Bergman. He married Finette Walker (1932-1977), with whom he had 3 children, and remained with her until his death. Among his most notable works are Viva Zapata! (1952), Lady and the Tramp (1955), The Flintstones (1960), and Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961). He studied journalism at Columbia University, then went on to study drama at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He worked on the radio under his real name and in the cinema under the name of Alan Reed. He also worked in Broadway theaters, in addition to his work as a voice actor. He died on June 14, 1977, in Los Angeles, California, USA.
