An American writer, born in Pennsylvania, in the United States. He is a playwright and screenwriter whose works have been produced in theaters throughout the United States. He also collaborated on some of his film and television scripts with the director Garrison Keillor and the writer and director Robert Altman, Dean of Theatrical Arts at Stevens College in Columbia, Missouri, where they presented the movie A Prairie Home Companion (2006), starring actress Meryl Streep.
