Raya Abirached is a Lebanese TV presenter and producer, with British citizenship. She was born on Thursday, May 12, 1977. She began her career as a journalist working in magazines and newspapers in Beirut before moving to live in the United Kingdom in 1999. She holds a BA in Economics, a MA in Film and a MA in Journalism from Westminster University in London. She is fluent in four languages: Arabic, English, French and Italian, and she currently lives with her husband in London. Raya was known in the Middle East during her presentation of Arab's Got Talent program, which is based on the American version of America's Got Talent, and she is the first Arab journalist to meet with the most important international actors and directors such as Tom Cruise, Angelina Jolie, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Nicole Kidman, Martin Scorcese, and many more. She has also met the international singers Shakira, Beyonce, and Mariah Carey. Raya has covered the most important award ceremonies and film festivals such as the Oscars, the Golden Globe, Cannes, and the Venice and Berlin International Film Festivals. Raya also had face-to-face conversations with the most important Arab artists such as Omar Sharif and Youssef Chahine As a celebrity journalist, she has collaborated with several satellite channels, including Entertainment Tonight of the United States, Star TV of Switzerland, ZDF of Germany, ORF of Australia and Telecine of Brazil. She is often asked to give public meetings for major film studios such as Warner Bros., Disney and Paramount. Aside from her job as a celebrity journalist, Raya has also hosted the weekly economic program World Business which airs on CNBC Europe and Asia. She has also hosted other events such as American Idol in Dubai and the launch of Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi.
