A famous American actor and the son of actor Jason Robards Senior. He was born February 26, 1922 in Chicago but has lived most of his life in Los Angeles. He was talented in sports in school and served in the US Navy during World War II. After returning to civilian life, he enrolled at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and struggled as a junior actor on New York theaters, radio, and television before rising to fame with The Iceman Cometh. He entered the world of cinema with The Journey in 1959 and rose to prominence with the role of Cheyenne in Once Upon a Time in the West. Robards won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1976 with All the President's Men, and the following year he won the same award for Julia. Robards continued in cinema and theater and presented distinguished works such as the 1999 movie Magnolia, which was the last cinematic work before his death on December 26, 2000 at the age of 78.
