Theater and film actor, writer, director, and producer, born in Chicago. His father is the businessman Norman Fischer and his mother is Sally Fischer, a painter and human rights activist. His works include Short Circuit, Super Mario Bros., and Hackers. In 2010, he won the Oscar for Best Documentary shared with Louie Psihoyos.
