An English actor, born in London. He was born on October 14, 1927, to a policeman, and he was the only son of his parents. After the end of World War II he served in the British Army and had a period of service in West Germany. He initially participated in several minor roles and appeared as a model in commercials. He worked in film and television, but he did not become famous until Sean Connery, the first hero of James Bond films, announced his decision in 1966 to give up these roles. He continued in the James Bond films from 1973 until 1985, where he starred in seven films, the last of which was the movie (The Murder Scene). During the mentioned period from 1973 to 1985, he also participated in 13 regular films. He married four times in his life, and the fourth and last time was with a Danish-Swedish millionaire named Christina. He received several awards, the last of which was from the University of Hertfordshire. One of his most famous roles is the role of Simon Templar in the TV series The Saint. He played the role of secret agent James Bond in seven films from 1973 to 1985, including The Man with the Golden Gun, and was appointed as a UNICEF ambassador in 1991.
