Maryam Nouhy |
American director born on 25 September 1895 in Russia to a family of Jewish heritage. He moved to the United States in 1912 and in 1919 he became a naturalized US citizen. After WWI, he moved to Hollywood and worked as an editor and assistant director. His film Two Arabian Knights (1928), earned him his first Academy Award. He earned his second Oscar for All Quiet on the Western Front (1930. His other works include Of Mice and Men, The North Star, and Mutiny on the Bounty. He died on 25 September 1980. |
