An American writer, born on July 16, 1956, in New York, USA. He won two Tony Awards as the author of Best Play two years in a row: in 1993 for "Angels in America: Millennium Approaches" and in 1994 for "Angels in America: Perestroika". He was awarded an honorary doctorate by Brandeis University in 2006. His musical "Caroline, or Change" won the 2009 Joseph Jefferson Award for Best Musical Production. He is also known for West Side Story (2021) and Munich (2005). |
