He is an Iranian producer and writer, born on January 28, 1966, in Tehran, Iran. He studied graphic arts at the University of the Arts. He served as a member of several Fetival juries, such as the Carthage Film Festival in Tunisia, the Tajikistan International Film Festival, and the International Tehran Short Film Festival. He is known for As Simple as That (2008), Today (2014), and The Child and the Soldier (2000). His debut feature film, The Child and the Soldier (2000), has received several national and international awards, and his second feature, Under the Moonlight (2001), won the Best Feature Award at the 40th Critics' Week at the 2001 Cannes International Film Festival.
