A Dutch actress and model, born on September 28, 1952, in the Netherlands. She made her debut in the 1973 movie Frank & Eva, gaining fame after starring in the erotic movie Emmanuelle (1974), which turned into a film series. Her other notable movies include Lady Chatterley's Lover and Mata Hari. Sylvia tried to escape being typecast, but she soon returned to the same kind of films. She lived for a while in America and appeared in the movie The Concorde... Airport '79 (1979) with Alain Delon, but she returned to live in Paris. Sylvia married twice and her marriages ended in divorce. She had one son. She died on October 18, 2012, in the Netherlands.
