Egyptian religious singer who was born blind in 1944 in the village of Kafr El-Ghanamia, El Bagour, Menofia Governorate. He started singing religious songs at the age of 12 and later became known all over Egypt and hosted by radio and TV programs. In 1974, he was a religious singer in the radio after he got the approval of the committee that was made up of Sheikh Mohammed al-Ghazali and Sheikh Muhammad Morsi Amer. President Muhammad Anwar el-Sadat admired him and gave him his golden stick. He passed away on April 6, 2018, at age 74.
