Film director, born on March 31, 1972 in Chile, he has a Chilean father and a Spanish mother. When he was one year old, his family moved to Spain, and that was only fifty days before the political coup led by dictator Pinochet in Chile. He began studying cinema in 1990, at the Complutense University in Madrid. Unfortunately, this study lacked practical training, so he dropped out after failing arbitrarily several times, and then started directing short films since then. In 1991, at the age of 19, he showed his first short film "La cabeza", which won the Association of Independent Amateur Filmmakers Award. That film was the beginning of his fellowship with Mateo Gil the Spanish screenwriter and director, who is considered his artistic partner. Among his works: The Others, The Sea Inside and Agora.
