An Italian animator, writer, and producer, born in Gualdo, Macerata, Marche, Italy. He founded Rainbow S.p.A. animation studio. Straffi became interested in comics as a child and began creating his own comic stories at the age of seven. As a teenager, he participated in art competitions. He received his undergraduate education at the University of Macerata, where he studied literature and modern languages. Straffi began his career as a comic book artist in 1985 when his first story was published in Tilt. In 1989, Straffi was recruited by veteran comic writer Claudio Nizzi (1938) to work on the then-new detective series "Nick Raider" (1988-2005). His first animated feature film based on an original story was the historical comedy Gladiators of Rome (2012). He served as a producer on the TV series Club 57 (2019-2021).
