A Saudi actress and director, who studied directing and acting in the United States of America, where she became the first Saudi woman to study there. She also gained many experiences by working in Hollywood, as in 2007 she participated in the famous American film The Kingdom, with the director Peter Berg. She participated in the Turkish film Razan, for which she received the Golden Gate Award for Best Actress at the San Francisco Film Festival. The film also participated in the International Film Festival Rotterdam. She made her first directorial experience in the short feature film The Shoemaker 'Al-Qondorji', with the Egyptian artist Amr Waked, which won several awards from Arab and international festivals, most notably the Gulf Film Festival and the Beirut International Film Festival. The film also participated in the official competition of the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. In October 2012, she joined the jury of the Abu Dhabi Film Festival and also participated in the Venice International Film Festival through the Saudi film Wadjda, which is considered her acting debut in the film field. She also directed the film Sanctity (2012).
