• An Israeli actress, born in Haifa, Palestine on September 20, 1931 as Haya Neuberg to Polish Jewish immigrants. She was nominated for a Golden Laurel Award in 1960. She married an...Read more Israeli irrigation engineer, Nachman Zerwanitzer, and they lived in Tel Aviv. After they were divorced, she traveled to England and married British producer and director Jack Clayton (1984-1995) and stayed with him until his death. Her notable work includes Ben-Hur 1959), Journey Beneath the Desert (1961), and The Last Charge (1962). Haya acquired Israeli citizenship after the rise of the Israeli State in 1948, and began her career with the Israeli movie Hill 24 Doesn't Answer (1955), which was selected for screening at the Cannes Film Festival. She retired in 1974.
