American actor, born on June 1, 1890. He is best known for his role as The Wizard of Oz in the outstanding film The Wizard of Oz. Frank was a brother among 11 others, he followed the career of his older brother, the distinguished actor Ralph Morgan. He appeared in his first Broadway play in 1914 before making his first film work two years later. Morgan specialized in playing flirtatious, eccentric characters full of kindness and compassion. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor in the movie The Affairs of Cellin in 1934, before being nominated for an Oscar again in the movie Tortilla Flat in 1942, but this time for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. He died on September 18, 1949, due to a heart attack.
