An American pianist, composer, jazz musician, and singer, born in Williamsburg, USA. He graduated from James Blair High School in Williamsburg, Virginia, in 1973, where he played on the basketball team. He studied music at the University of Richmond, as well as Berklee College of Music and the University of Miami, from which he graduated in 1977. He co-wrote "Resting Place" from Spirit Trail with his older brother. and co-wrote "Sunlight Moon" from Spirit Trail with his twin sons, Keith and Russell. He has been nominated for ten Grammy Awards and won four, among which was Best New Artist in 1987.
