American poet and actress, born in Paris to a Greek mother and Spanish father. She was raised in Europe, and studied English philology and literature in Cambridge, England. She also, graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Art in New York, and received a master's degree in the American literature. She is known for Chocolat (2000), The Hundred-Foot Journey (2014), and Star Trek: Discovery (2017).
