An American actor, born in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, as Oliver Burgess Meredith. He worked in a number of jobs, including as an editor and a chef, and then he joined a theater company. He made his film debut in Winterset (1936). Among his awards are an Emmy Award in 1977, a Saturn Award in 1979 and 1982, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1987. He married four times and had two children. He is known Clash of the Titans (1981) and Rocky (1976). |
