An American actor and director, born in Chicago, Illinois, United States. He was educated in Catholic schools until his family moved to Michigan, where he began to excel academically. He obtained a BA in Theater from the University of Notre Dame, and a MA in Theater from the University of Michigan. He also studied at the London Shakespeare Academy.
In addition to his acting roles, he worked in production at TriStar Pictures, where he gained experience in film writing and the film industry. He directed the film The Stick Up Kids in 2008. He is also a social activist who calls on young people to read and study, and visits prisons to inspire prisoners and encourage them to learn. Among his credits are Speed, Se7en, and The Five Heartbeats.
