Richard Francis-Bruce (born 10 December 1948 in Sydney, Australia) is an Australian film editor. During his childhood he aspired to be a cinematographer like his father, Jack Bruce, who worked for Hollywood directors like Cecil B. De Mille. He started working as an editor at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation for 15 years. His first feature film editing job was in the 1983 post-apocalyptic film Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. With the same director, George Miller, Francis Bruce also edited The Witches of Eastwick in 1987, which starred Jack Nicholson, and Lorrenzo's Oil (1992). Francis_Bruce later earned Academy Award nominations for his work on The Shawshank Redemption (1994), Seven (1995), and Air Force One (1997). His other notable films include The Green Mile (1999), The Perfect Storm (200), Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001) and The Italian Job (2003).
