Shaimaa Saied |
An American actor and musician, born in Vienna, Austria. He began his career on stage during the British Mandate in Palestine, where his Jewish family, which had fled the Nazis, settled in 1943. He arrived in the United States in 1954 before he became an actor on Broadway. He then played roles in dozens of films and was nominated for an Academy Award for his work in the movie The Defiant Ones (1958). He was also famous for playing villains, especially when he played characters from Russia and Germany. His credits include My Fair Lady (1964) and The African Queen (1951). He died on July 21, 2015.
