An American actor, born on September 26, 1968 in Washington, USA. He has three sisters and one brother and is from a devout Catholic family. When he was young, he dreamed of being a basketball player, but unfortunately his wish was not fulfilled due to his injury while playing sports. He began his career in television programs, then got a role in the movie My Own Private Idaho (1991), then moved to Los Angeles to continue his career. He was offered a scholarship to study acting at New York's Juilliard School in 1993, but he turned it down in favor of a role in the 1994 film Wyatt Earp. He got married to Kerri Browitt Caviezel in 1996. He is best known for his role as Christ in the movie The Passion of the Christ. Among his other famous works are: The Count of Monte Cristo and Deja Vu.
