A Japanese actor, born on September 14, 1972 in Tokyo. He won the Japan Academy Award and other awards and honors. He started as an actor at an early age, as his father was also a kabuki actor - and kabuki is a Japanese theatrical art that combines dance, singing and kinetic performance and deals with historical and life topics. He made many films, and voice acted in many Japanese anime series. Despite his romantic performance in his first film Be with Me, he tends to play the roles of a fanatic and puritan. Among his most prominent works are Letters from Iwo Jima (2006), and Fearless (2006).
