An American singer and actor, born in Philadelphia, USA. After serving with the U.S. Navy in World War II, he began his singing career. In 1948, he participated in a musical talent show on television, and was able to draw attention to him after winning first place. His star shined in the sixties with successful songs, including “Spanish Eyes” and “I Love You More and More Every Day”. In addition to his music career, he co-starred with Marlon Brando in The Godfather (1972), in which he played singer Johnny Fontane. He died on October 13, 2009 in Philadelphia, USA, at age 82.
