An American-British singer-songwriter and record producer, born in Ohio, USA. He joined The Walker Brothers, and the band signed with Mercury Records in 1965 before moving to the United Kingdom. He began solo performing in 1967, then released a number of self-titled albums. He also sponsored the Meltdown music festival in 2000, then worked with his friend Jarvis Cocker to produce the album "We Love Life", then released successive albums, such as "The Drift" (2006) and "Bish Bosch" (2012). Among his credits are Vox Lux (2018) and The Childhood of a Leader (2015). He died on March 22, 2019.
