A Turkish film director, screenwriter, producer, and photographer, born on March 7, 1973, in Ankara, Turkey. His first feature film, The Long Way Home, won the FIPRESCI Prize and Golden Zenith at the 37th Montreal International Film Festival and the New Talent Award at the 7th Hong Kong Asian Film Festival. Eşeli co-founded ISTANBUL’74 and the Istanbul International Arts and Culture Festival. His father served as a diplomat for the Turkish government. Eşeli spent his childhood in Munich, Germany. After his college graduation, he relocated to New York City to study film. He received a Master of Arts in filmmaking from the New York Institute of Technology. He then went on to direct several commercials early on in his career, and he also worked as a fashion photographer. He shot fashion advertising campaigns with world-renowned stars, including Gisele Bundchen, Frankie Rayder, and Olivier Martinez. He married the creative director Demet Müftüoğlu Eşeli. He is known for Immortals (2018) and Little Bullets (2016).
