He was an Egyptian poet who was born in Mahalla al-Kubra on July 15, 1929. He moved to Cairo in 1964 and debuted with singer, Mohamed Rushdi through the song “Arbawi” composed by musician Helmy Bakr. He worked with the trio consisting of singer Ahmed Adawiya, the producer Atef Montaser, and the accordion player Mohamed Asfour, who composed the song “Salametha Umm Hassan”, which achieved huge success. After that, he set out in the world of writing folklore songs, writing most of Ahmed Adawiya's successful songs, including “Ya Bint Al Sultan”. He wrote the songs of the films The Single Husband (1966), and Sea of Illusions (1984). He passed away on June 19, 1990.
