An American director, actor, and writer, born in Indiana, USA. He spent some time in England during the late 1930s and the late 1940s with his family. He established himself as a director during his time in England. After returning to the United States, he presented The Thief of Bagdad (1940) before pursuing a career in writing. He collaborated on several movies with American actor Harold Lloyd. He is known for The Murder Man (1935) and Troopship (1937).
