An American director, actor, and writer. Although he was born in Indiana, USA, he spent some time growing up in England during the late 1930s and the late 1940s with his family. He established himself as a director during his time in England. After returning to the United States, he presented The Thief of Bagdad (1940) before pursuing a career in writing. He collaborated on several movies with American actor Harold Lloyd.
