• A Jamaican producer and singer, born in Northwest Jamaica. In 1936, as a producer and singer, he was one of the pioneers of reggae music during the 1960s and 1970s. He also worked with artists from other countries such as Paul McCartney and won a Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album in 2003 for his album Jamaican E.T. Perry dropped out of school at the age of fifteen and moved to Kingston in the 1960s. His albums include Africa's Blood (1972), History, Mystery & Prophesy (1984) and Repentance (2008). He died on August 29, 2021, in Lucea, Jamaica.
