He began his professional acting career through theatre, where he was part of a group of actors and directors who inaugurated the new wave in Australian theatre, and was a key member of several theater groups in Sydney. His credits include numerous films and TV series. Among his works are Happy Feet, Crazy Rich Asians, and Sleeping Beauty.
