An American actor, born in New Jersey, USA, to a working-class Italian American family. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the army and was stationed in South Korea during the Vietnam War era. He joined Rutgers University after his return. He worked after that at a radio station in California, and soon produced plays, then moved on to acting in Hollywood films and appearing in commercials. He's known for Mrs. Doubtfire (1993), The Rock (1996) and Patch Adams (1998).
