A German-American producer, born in Karlsruhe, Germany, to opera singer Fritz Moritz Harlan. The late director Stanley Kubrick was married to Christiane Kubrick, Harlan's sister. He began working as a researcher into historical figures, then worked as an executive producer on a number of works before he began presenting his directorial vision through a number of films. He is known for A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001) and Eyes Wide Shut (1999).
