A British director, screenwriter, and producer, born in Buxton, United Kingdom. He studied at Shrewsbury School. He later received a scholarship to study at St John's College at the University of Cambridge, where he won the John Bernard Seely Prize in Aeronautics. In 1927, he obtained a master's degree in mechanical sciences. He directed a number of films in England, then moved to Hollywood, where he cooperated with the Walt Disney Company in films, such as the Oscar-winning film Mary Poppins (1964). |
