An American actor, born in Brooklyn, New York in 1934 to a Lebanese father and a Palestinian mother. He discovered his acting talent while in high school. He enrolled in Syracuse University and was the head of the university's acting club. He served in the armed forces through his work in the Army Theater, and appeared for the first time on Broadway in 1956 as a replacement for actor James Komack. Among his most notable films: Don Juan DeMarco (1994), and Along Came Polly (2004). He is married to actress Judy Graubart. He won a Drama Desk Award in 1977.
