A British actor, born in Monmouth, Wales. He was educated in Monmouth schools, fought in World War II in the Allied forces, and left the army after reaching the rank of colonel. He played his first theatrical role when he was still eighteen. Among his most important films are Macbeth (1971), Tess (1979), and Pirates (1986), all of which were directed by Roman Polanski. Pearson married actress Patricia Dickson in 1949, they had two children, and they remained together until his death on August 2, 2011, in London after suffering a brain hemorrhage.
