A Lebanese stage actor, writer, and director, born in the town of Marjayoun in southern Lebanon. He immigrated to the United States of America in 1985 when he was 19 years old during the Lebanese civil war and joined Wayne State University, where he studied radio and television, then studied film directing at the Academy of Arts University in San Francisco. In 1988, he co-founded the Ajyal theater troupe, which initially aimed to present its performances to the Arab community in Detroit and the surrounding suburbs. With his troupe, he presented his first work in 1989; however, his big break came when he played the role of Umm Hussein in the 1994 play Smile, You're in America, which achieved great success.
