He was an Egyptian director and writer who was born in Alexandria in 1982. He received Azharite education from a young age until his graduation from university, after which he joined the script department at the Higher Institute of Cinema. During and after the study period, Mahmoud presented a number of short fiction and documentaries, including: Pale Red (2009), and Before Departure (2012). He died in 2012, aged 30.
