An American actor, born on July 15, 1936, in New Rochelle, New York. He studied at Swarthmore College, receiving a BA in English. In 1969, he received a Ph.D. in dramatic literature from Stanford University. Prior to launching a career as an actor, Steven Gilborn was a professor of humanities at MIT as well as a faculty adviser to the Gilbert and Sullivan Society. His notable work includes Alien: Resurrection (1997), Doctor Dolittle (1998), and Evolution (2001). He died on January 2, 2009, in New York.
