He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture and the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture. A new book recently published in Tel Aviv reveals that Arnon worked for a secret unit in the Israeli Ministry of Defense and the Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad, and provided them with top-secret technological information. The book "The Life of a Hollywood Secret Agent" revealed, through excerpts published by the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, that Israeli President Shimon Peres recruited him.
