American producer. His most famous film productions are the Israeli films Dizengoff 99 (1979), Pretty Woman (1990), and The Devil's Advocate (1997). Among his numerous awards are the Independent Spirit Award for Best Film, the BAFTA Award for Best Film, and the Gotham Independent Film Award for Best Film. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture and the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture. A new book recently published in Tel Aviv reveals that Arnon worked for a secret unit in the Israeli Ministry of Defense and the Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad, and provided them with top-secret technological information. The book "The Life of a Hollywood Secret Agent" revealed, through excerpts published by the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, that Israeli President Shimon Peres recruited him. |
