Shaimaa Saied |
A South African writer and director, born in Middelburg, South Africa to a mother of Dutch descent and a father of Irish, English, and French Huguenot descent. He devoted his writings to achieving the goal of living in a country governed by a law that is applied to everyone without discrimination. His first work was a one-act play entitled The Cell (1957), then he followed it with No-Good Friday (1958). He also wrote the play Blood Knot (1961). His other credits include Gandhi (1982) and Tsotsi (2005).
