She is a multi-award winning scriptwriter and editor, whose goal is to become a university professor and to continue making films without compromise. At the United Somali Congress in 2007, she won a production grant for the movie The Witness. Before directing films, she worked as a moderator and assistant director, and received many awards and study fellowships in film production and critical studies. Her most recent feature films and her most recent short films include: Malpensa (2009), The Witness (2009), and Tales from the Golden Age (2009).
