An Indian composer, singer-songwriter, music producer, and multi-instrumentalist, born on January 6, 1967, in Chennai, India. In his music, he combines rap, hip-hop, Arabic music, and various folkloric music, successfully incorporating traditional Indian and Western musical instruments. He was asked by Ram Gopal Varma to work on his movie Rangeela (1995), which would be his first success in India. His other notable work includes Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India (2001) and Slumdog Millionaire (2008). |
