Dalia Saad |
An American journalist, writer, and film critic, born in Urbana, Illinois, in 1942. He studied journalism at the University of Illinois and continued his studies at the University of Cape Town and the University of Chicago.
He joined the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper and worked there as a film critic from 1967 to 2013. He also co-presented his famous TV show, Siskel & Ebert, with the late film critic Gene Siskel. He published several books on cinema, including one about director Martin Scorsese.
In 2002, he was diagnosed with cancer of the thyroid gland, which led to him undergoing several operations in addition to chemotherapy. After 11 years of battling cancer, he passed away in 2013 at the age of 70.
