Lee Marvin was an American actor, born on February 19, 1924, in New York City, New York, USA. After being medically discharged from the United States Marine Corps during WWII, he worked as a plumber in a local theater, where he was asked to replace an actor who had fallen sick. Since then, he loved acting and went to study at the American Theatre Wing.
He began as a supporting actor, then achieved stardom in action films and dramas. He is known for Cat Ballou (1965), The Professionals (1966), and The Dirty Dozen (1967). Lee Marvin won an Academy Award and a BAFTA Award among many other awards. He was married to Pamela Feeley and had 4 children from a previous marriage. He died of a heart attack on August 29, 1987, aged 63.
