Joan Blondell was an American actress, born on August 30, 1906, in New York City, USA. Both her parents worked in the theater. She appeared in several Broadway productions. After signing with Warner Bros., she collaborated with James Cagney in Sinners' Holiday (1930), forming with him a successful duo. She is known for The Public Enemy (1931), Opening Night (1977), and Grease (1978). Blondell received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She died of leukemia on December 25, 1979, in Santa Monica, California. |
