Salma El-Sharkawy |
A British novelist and short story writer, born on September 13, 1916, in Wales, to Norwegian parents. He joined the Royal Air Force during World War II. In the 40s, he began writing novels, which later became some of the best-selling novels in the world. His other successful works include short stories that often have unexpected endings, in addition to satirical children's stories. He is known for "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", "Fantastic Mr Fox", "The BFG", and "Matlida". Many of his novels have been adapted into many films. He died on November 23, 1990, in Oxford, England. |
